The Barkhor traces the outskirts of the Jokhang in a circuit
of approximately 800 meters. It's a fascinating Kora and probably the last part
of Lhasa that has resisted any invasion of the modern world. There is a constant
stream of Tibetan pilgrims following the Kora in a clockwise direction. As you
follow the flow of pilgrims, there are endless opportunities to loose yourself
in the many fascinating narrow alleys. The Longkor Kora is the devotional route
that traditionally encompassed the entirety of the old city. The whole Kora is
around 8 kilometer and a bit more quite than the Barkhor Kora, nevertheless,
it's a fascination route to explore with many hidden secrets.
